BG38 Blue Cut Glass UV‑IR Cut Filter
BG38 Blue Cut Glass UV‑IR Cut Filter This UV IR cut filter is constructed using blue absorptive glass types QB21 and BG38, enabling the transmission of the visible light spectrum while effectively suppressing ultraviolet and near-infrared wavelengths. In colored-glass filters, optical blocking is achieved through bulk absorption rather than multilayer reflective coatings; consequently, the spectral characteristics, including edge position and blocking depth, can be precisely adjusted by varying the thickness of the glass. Standard configurations typically employ 1–3 mm glass plates, while customized larger sizes can be supplied to accommodate OEM mounting requirements. Unfiltered silicon-based image sensors exhibit sensitivity beyond the visible red spectrum, extending up to approximately 1100 nm. Without proper filtering, infrared radiation may lead to undesirable color shifts and diminished image contrast. A UV-IR-cut filter ensures exclusive capture of the visible spectrum by atten…
